To return to a place, is, like dying
Mixed Media, Variable Dimensions
Hansen House, Jerusalem
2016
Curator: Adiya Porat
To return to a place, is, like dying presents a multidisciplinary body of work - sound, installation, printmaking and text - from the past three years. The geographical and spiritual remoteness from hometown Jerusalem constitutes the exhibition's core, not as a special case but rather as a fundamental contemplation on distancing, exile and retreat.
The exhibition space, colored in shades of yellow and brown, brings to mind an ancient
appearance, an old photograph or a cave revealed in an archaeological dig. The voice of the past combines with that of the present.
